The thing I really like about architectural design, is the ability to take something old and make it new, or take something that isn't crash hot, and make it amazing.
Architect Jesús Castillo Oli Arquitecto does this, and does it brilliantly.
The house (above) in Porquera de los Infantes, Palencia, Spain, is a house that, on the outside, looks like old, rubbish ruins, but on the inside, is actually a pretty fancy and wonderfully designed loft. I myself, would be proud to call it my home.
Check out their personal website for more info and more amazing architecture.
Another "green" entry for the week, The Aware Project.
They're also uber-stylish and cool!
Check out the Aware Project Website here, and support the cause.
I read about Greenhouse in Pilot Magazine, and wow, what a concept, and its super trendy and hip too! It is located in SoHo, NYC.
As the New York Post puts it, "That means that everything from building materials and garbage disposal, energy and water usage, has to be regulated and reduced. With walls made of sustainable bamboo instead of wood and LED lightbulbs that use just one-thirtieth of the energy of regular incandescent bulbs, the space cost 40 percent more to build than a traditional club."
Also, the uniforms are made by Edun, and they sell clean n' green drinks like 360 Vodka. But be warned, its a pricey bar... as you'd expect!
Possibly my favorite decorating blog is a new one I found only last week, Decor8. A beautifully designed blog with great content, stunning images and written with sweetness it's a total MUST for anyone who loves interior decorating as much as I do...and I'm totally addicted. I got so many ideas just from the first page but make sure to delve through the whole thing!
