Tim Walker + Tim Burton = Haven't I seen this spread before?

As much as I love these new images from Tim Walker & Tim Burton's collab for Harpers Bazaar, I'm feeling a little bit, nay, a lot, of deja vu.... didn't Tim Walker do the exact same style of shoot YEARS ago for Vogue's Christmas edition? I'm pretty sure it's even been shot at the same location. I adore Walker's photos but this seems a bit too cheap, he's such an original photographer, let's see something new guys!

My favorites from Matthew Williamson's 2010 Spring Collection

Taking colour in a whole different direction, Matthew Williamson gives us shimmery near cling film fabrics mixed with tulip skirts, mixed with bows, geometry and possibly the best dress of the season (center)! My bet is it will be the 'It Girl' dress that the Herve Leger was of last year. I LOVE it.

C-O-L-O-U-R! Can you say it with me? Marc Jacobs turns out the megawattage in the colour department for his Spring 2010 RTW collection. It seems to me only a few new riffs on his Fall collection, which had the similar knits, stripes and layering but I'm loving the high high waisting, the clashing and the LV bunny ear nod (why wouldn't he do that?). I can't wait to make my own versions after a trip to the Salvation Army. 

Natalie Portman - Interview Mag

Yay!  September Issues!  The best time for magazines!  (Speaking of September Issues... if you haven't yet watched The September Issue, about Vogue Mag and Ms Wintour... check it out, now!  We just had it here in NZ for the Film Festival and I was blown away completely!)

Interview has our girl Natalie Portman on the cover, stunning photography  too.  And we have to wait to see the rest of the mag cause its not even online yet... urgh!  In the meantime keep an eye out on the website, there's always plenty to read!

Sweat Pants are Fashionable (?) says Elle.com

How in hell's name am I going to convince my boyfriend to get out of his Chav-wear now? 

 

Mitsu Tsuchiya, the closet manager gushes:

"I’m so digging this jacket + sweat pants/trousers look. Why? It’s sporty, it’s urban, and, needless to say, it’s perfect for running around in the fashion closet while still looking stylish." 

I'd say I could just not tell my boyfriend about this odd fashion development but I got so excited for him when I saw sweat pants in a title on Elle that I texted him my congratulations. He took it all in his stride, assured me he knew this fact, stating that he'd just been 'ahead of the curve'. Obviously.

Everyone knows I'm a Geldof Girls fan, was cool to see Pixie make her Vogue debut in the first fashion spread of the September Issue of UK Vogue. Va va voooooooom!

Alexa Chung in Times UK

My new favorite It Girl (next to the classic Lily Allen and Emma Watson) is Alexa Chung, read a great interview with her at Times Online...

"..A tweet from Alexa Chung. It is 7am in New York City. “Gross. Keep being sick. It’s the worst,” she says. “Food poisoning?”

It’s plausible – though I put it to you, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, to consider her final tweet the previous evening. “Seasick drunk. Bad vibes.”

So our interview is postponed. We meet a day later, when naturally my first job is to determine the cause of this illness. Was food or booze to blame? Both, it turns out. “I got up at 6.30am, did the show, then I had to wait around and go to a screening of this awful film,” she says. “Then everyone wanted to go for a drink. And I hadn’t eaten all day, and I was so hungry by the time I got to the bar I just ate my weight in olives. Then I had whisky. I think something happened with the two and they turned to poison. I didn’t stop puking until 2pm yesterday. Disgusting. Olives stuck in my nose,” she announces, brightly. “I was, like, ‘Wow! I was really swallowing those things down whole?’” .."
